Subject: Run 1765

And so about 14 or thereabouts hashers met at the house on the hill. GV called order and explained the trails for the nights run(s). There was a Long Run heading South, a Medium Run heading West and a Short Run heading North - and Hashers could combine any or all of them, all leaving from the Mastercheck in front of the Forth Pub. And the fourth option was to go straight to the pub. Geez it was half a run just getting there!

Don't know if anyone did  combine but Dint made a lot of comment about it accusing GV of getting the numbers wrong. The William Street hill heading up past Killer's house does not get any easier after enjoying the scenic beauty of Forth.

GV's feast of chips and cut sausages and onion stew and more onions and even more onions proved very popular with Flasher in that other Hashers contributed their left over onions to his plate.  But before that there was soup, and after that there was cake.

Triple Top arrived in time without getting lost and regailed us all with her stories of peddling across the Nullabor and completing the journey to Albany.  Gone Again is now walking somewhere between Albany and Perth continuing building awareness of CF.

Downs were awarded by Dint (because Bastard was in Vietnam) to -

. Flasher 545 runs,
. Koff 520 runs,
. Triple Top and Ewe Turn welcomed back after a great adventure,
. Something about AFL losers - Carlton, Geelong and Hawthorn supporters,
. Tinset Tits - something about being on Inflamatories,
. Soff got one for being away on his motorbike for the last month,
. And Foghorn got one for going away for some months.

It was a cool night but GV's heater worked well in the confines of the house on the hill's entrance foyer - suitably protected.

The Hub was not sighted as Bonor still has it and he has not been sighted for a while.

Next weeks run is at Soff and Landings place at 40 Esplanade, Turners Beach 7315 in North West Tasmania.  Maggie will set the run and Landing will provide her usual excellent fare. I guess I will just help with the cooking.  And checking how our new patio screens keep the coolness away. But there will be fireboxes and coloured lights!

RUN:- 1766

It's been a while since we have had a co-operative Run. In this case, Maggie May co-opted Soff and Landing to host a run while he did the hard yards in setting it. It appears he has run out of room in his garage because of all of his new toys.
And so it came to pass that Maggie appeared at the driveway of the house nearly on the beach at Turners Beach and left a lot of white stuff on the ground and at several places nearby.  Gossip has it that trail headed East to the mouth of the Forth River, and then West along the beach  (good thing Koff was missing as she apparently has difficulty in going in any direction).
Heard tell that Foghorn took off his sox and shoes to cross Claytons Rivulet on the beach - and by the time he did that, the pack had disappeared. So he came back to the house nearly on the beach - bloody sook!  Apparently, trail went over the Bass Highway to a cunningly hidden HHH.
As Landing was in the midst of preparing a sumptuous feast, the Lippery was done first by Dint (and Bastard was still in Vietnam).
Some notable downs were -
.  1243 Tracka (Internation Dislectic Day)
.  393 Maggie    as above
. 786  Soff          as above
. 1299  Guards Van for practice
.  540  Flasher
.  989  Dint
. 151   Captain Crab
. 153  Foghorn  because he won't be here for some months
And then it was time to feed the 21 hashers with Soup, and then there was rissoles/snags/salads/potatoe bake/and lamingtons.
The Hub turned up with Bonor who did not run and for no reason at all, I can't remember who it was awarded to.
Next Weeks run is going to be at Ratchets and Knickers house in the country, at 1015 Isandula Road, Upper Gawler. When you reach the end of the bitumen, turn right,  down the driveway and you are there.
A great night, the fireboxes kept everyone warm and I guess the port did as well.
Our thoughts are with Crow in Melbourne undergoing surgery for his bleeding heart - not figuratively but it could have been.

As darkness fell weary hashers staggered back to the on-on ..... and a great on-on it was.

Run 1762

13 Handy Rashers fronted the starting tape at Penguin Basketball Stadium. Bastard put us through the hoops with a mad dash around the mountain bike course. There were more twists and turns that an Agatha Christie novel. Cheese thought he had been on the “turps” because he kept seeing Eweturns every few metres. In fact there was only one of her.
The on-on was enjoyed by all. Thank you Pioneer and Bastard.

Our condolences to Eagle and family on the death of his father.

On~on!

Subject: Run 1760

And it was off to the far flung fields of Parramatta Creek Rest Area for Monday's run.   You know,  the car park there is quite substantial and quite easily held the vehicles of the 12 or so committed hashers.  That is, along with a few other suspect cars, vans and utes that seemed to be making it their accomodation place for the night  As it turned out they were apple pickers working on the nearby plantation - well there is a toilet,  BBQ  and water available.

And so, for a change, the Crowmobile was early and I was able to call on on. The trail was found somewhere in the grass, then on to the highway heading towards Deloraine, only to find an arrow pointing over a rather large gutter and into an apple orchard.  I do remember Dint and Koff exclaiming rather loudly before the run that do not pick any apples - some hashers must have had a selective hearing problem. The one's on the ground were not mentioned.

And so it was that the trail wound around and around and around  the orchard, only to wend it's way back to where the trail started.  I have never seen so many apple tree's laden with so many apples!  It's a big place and because it is hidden behind trees, when passing by in a vehicle you cannot see how big it really is.

Dint performed the Lip and also set the run - wow!

Some of the downs were -

. Crow  799 just  for practice,
. Lantern 636 reversible,
. Maggie May 390,
. Lantern, went down the Wunners trail,
. Lantern, did not call on on when on trail.

It might be mentioned here that the Crowmobile picked up Lantern pretending to be a hitchhicker along  the highway near his home so there was no threat to his driving license.

We were also graced by the visiting attendance of former Hobart Hasher Azaria, now in Launceston who came by to check us out.

The raffles were wun and run - I was rewarded with some chok o late and Crow received a bottle of "Fat Bastard" Pinoir Noir.

At this point I have to mention that only 4 hashers responded to Guardsvan's txt that they were cumming. So we have to acknowledge the intuition of Koff by providing sufficient wholesome and filling foodstuffs to cater for the angry hords - and there was enough left over for Dint and Koff for a couple of lunches. All this while some wanker phones were disturbing the tranquillity.

Next weeks run is listed to be set by Capt Crab, probably at Otto's Grotto but he was not there to confirm - there was a Cruise ship in at Burnie and he was probably tired and emotional after a few hours of talking and driving.  Someone will tell everybody  where everyone should go to!

And that some one will not be me because I  am on the Spirit on Wednesday 11 March heading off the the Ulysses (old Farts who ride Motorcycles) Club AGM at Wodonga - via Adelaide and Broken Hill with 8 other members. The pink toe nails are done and the Goldwing is just about packed.  Remember, it is not just the destination but enjoy the journey.    Back  31th of March.

Maybe even cross paths with Gone Again and supporters on their journey - Nice pic in the Advocate today.

Cheers and may your glass be alway half full!
