Run 1762

13 Handy Rashers fronted the starting tape at Penguin Basketball Stadium. Bastard put us through the hoops with a mad dash around the mountain bike course. There were more twists and turns that an Agatha Christie novel. Cheese thought he had been on the “turps” because he kept seeing Eweturns every few metres. In fact there was only one of her.
The on-on was enjoyed by all. Thank you Pioneer and Bastard.

Our condolences to Eagle and family on the death of his father.

On~on!

Run 1761

Please note this is being organised by Crab from Otto’s Grotto, Ulverstone.

Monday 9th March, 2015

Subject: Run 1760

And it was off to the far flung fields of Parramatta Creek Rest Area for Monday's run.   You know,  the car park there is quite substantial and quite easily held the vehicles of the 12 or so committed hashers.  That is, along with a few other suspect cars, vans and utes that seemed to be making it their accomodation place for the night  As it turned out they were apple pickers working on the nearby plantation - well there is a toilet,  BBQ  and water available.

And so, for a change, the Crowmobile was early and I was able to call on on. The trail was found somewhere in the grass, then on to the highway heading towards Deloraine, only to find an arrow pointing over a rather large gutter and into an apple orchard.  I do remember Dint and Koff exclaiming rather loudly before the run that do not pick any apples - some hashers must have had a selective hearing problem. The one's on the ground were not mentioned.

And so it was that the trail wound around and around and around  the orchard, only to wend it's way back to where the trail started.  I have never seen so many apple tree's laden with so many apples!  It's a big place and because it is hidden behind trees, when passing by in a vehicle you cannot see how big it really is.

Dint performed the Lip and also set the run - wow!

Some of the downs were -

. Crow  799 just  for practice,
. Lantern 636 reversible,
. Maggie May 390,
. Lantern, went down the Wunners trail,
. Lantern, did not call on on when on trail.

It might be mentioned here that the Crowmobile picked up Lantern pretending to be a hitchhicker along  the highway near his home so there was no threat to his driving license.

We were also graced by the visiting attendance of former Hobart Hasher Azaria, now in Launceston who came by to check us out.

The raffles were wun and run - I was rewarded with some chok o late and Crow received a bottle of "Fat Bastard" Pinoir Noir.

At this point I have to mention that only 4 hashers responded to Guardsvan's txt that they were cumming. So we have to acknowledge the intuition of Koff by providing sufficient wholesome and filling foodstuffs to cater for the angry hords - and there was enough left over for Dint and Koff for a couple of lunches. All this while some wanker phones were disturbing the tranquillity.

Next weeks run is listed to be set by Capt Crab, probably at Otto's Grotto but he was not there to confirm - there was a Cruise ship in at Burnie and he was probably tired and emotional after a few hours of talking and driving.  Someone will tell everybody  where everyone should go to!

And that some one will not be me because I  am on the Spirit on Wednesday 11 March heading off the the Ulysses (old Farts who ride Motorcycles) Club AGM at Wodonga - via Adelaide and Broken Hill with 8 other members. The pink toe nails are done and the Goldwing is just about packed.  Remember, it is not just the destination but enjoy the journey.    Back  31th of March.

Maybe even cross paths with Gone Again and supporters on their journey - Nice pic in the Advocate today.

Cheers and may your glass be alway half full!

Next week Parramatta Creek

And so 30 or so Hashers met at Fanny May's  and sometimes Gone Again's place for Run 1759. It was a lovely warm evening,  just right for a wander - and what a wander it was.  Along the river, then beside the seaside, and nearly got involved in footy training in the park. It was noticed that Lantern cast envious eyes at the Army Depot when he went past.

Bastard performed the Lip (it was his turn) and some downs were -

. Crow - 798 runs for practice,
. GA - 248 runs for practice,
. A bit of this - 159 runs,
. Foghorn - 151 runs,
. Phay Ray 55 runs,
. TT (That's Tracka's live-in housekeeper) 325 runs,
. TT (The dumb blonde who keeps forgetting to bring the hub) 55 runs,
. Eweturn - (baaa)  22 runs.

Ratchet was called by Dint for pretending to be a runner! Deemed trivial and Dint downed.

Soff was called for not waiting for some slow wankers and cried On On before they arrived at the Mastercheck. And another for something to do with being talked about on the radio on his birthday day (he's the one with the dog pulling his pushbike along at Turners Beach).

The subject of the Hub came up yet again. And again Triple Top defaulted. We hope to get it back before she leaves Tasmania.

And why would she be leaving Tasmania you ask? Because she will be joining GA and Eweturn and Thrust and some others who don't know that yet, on his "Nullarbor - Bibbulmum" journey - riding a pushie (the bikes have batteries)  across the Nullarbor and walk the Bibbulmum track in WA spreading awareness of Cystic Fibrosis. In keeping with Hash ongoing support of GA's awareness endeavours, Burnie Hash represented by A Bit Of This and Ringo presented GA with a fluteboard cheque of $500 (the real cheque is in the mail) during the Lip. A wonderful gesture!

At the completion of the Lip, there being some Burnie hashers in attendance, the Devonport HHH song was sung with gay abandon.

And then Crow got creamed by Bedpan? with a can of spray cream - Crow said it does not taste the same as real cream - and he would know.

The runs cumming up -

. Full Moon Hash will be at  the Top of the Town Hotel, Burnie on Friday 6 March.

. Devonport Hash will gather at Parramatta Creek on Monday 9 March with the On On back at Dint's in Church St, East Devonport.

Footnote from last weeks run at Bonors - a hasher was noted wrapping a couple of "roadies" in some clothing before leaving. You are on notice!!

A great run, with 3 courses of tummy filling stuff, and a smokey firepot which left everyone needing to wash their clothes sooner rather than later - and probably themselves as well. A fitting f*ck off for GA and we all wish him and the team a safe and successful journey.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life - get on with it!
