Aussie Bike R*n

The sleepy holiday town of Port Sorell didn't stir as the convoy of motorcycles burbled its way to the rotunda. The township dozed in the hazy warmth as the pack de-leathered, called itself to order and headed off on trail. Down to Panatana Rivulet, past the boats lying all akimbo in the mud, across the bridge, through the desiccated reedy bushland of she-oak and banksia to a Mastercheck, and at last On Home through the streets to the park. Peace reigned as the pack was fed and watered admirably by Hare Ratchet and his barmy catering army. Cash was taken and raffle tickets sold with barely a murmur. Eerily quiet.

At last the lippery was called to order, and the decibels rose as Dint (Gispert Bless Him) stood and delivered his best and worst, irreverently incinerating the Burnie Trash, riling up the likes of Koff to fire her furiously smoking barbs back at him, playing High Beam like a fiddle to extract the high notes, baiting Pioneer to unleash her amazing tact (almost equal to that of the common housebrick), and of course ritually punishing the Hare for his very existence with a small cup of brew. In the midst of the melee, it was reassuring to see that the little man who came and stared at the excessively rowdy pack last year was again hovering in the shrubbery ready to whinge to the authorities about the noise and his loss of amenity. All was well with the world! Goodness knows, Hash has a reputation to uphold! The raffle muffled the noise again somewhat as everyone stopped squawking and rummaged busily for their tickets to prove they had not won the Panetone cake, but definitely had the right one to win the Kinder Surprise.

There was a poultice of birthdays to celebrate - Mullet, Ringo and Cheese (plus Tinsel, had she been in attendance) marked with some very bad singing and a stodgy cake covered in candles and saliva. After heated competition from those theiving Burnie Hashers, Dint presented Cheese with the Hub as a 40th birthday gift.

Next week's r*n is the magnificent and fabulous 1600th, starting from the Oz Rock Inn, Ulverstone and featuring Adam and Eve, so get your Asp along at 6.30 Monday 30th January, and don't forget the fig leaves.

Run starts at the Rotunda BBQ area at 530 for Burnie's run on Sunday and 630pm for Devonport Hashers on Monday. Motorbikes will be the preferred mode of transport for Monday's run, and bikes leave at 6pm from Crow's Oz Rock!

Bridging the Stone

It was a perfect night for a Hash, even by D*ckhead standards. The pack took notes from the Hare Captain Crab, ignored them and ran where they pleased. That included a stroll to the clock, through the golden arches and then a jaunt across the new bridge and back. A fine feast of suntanned sausages, burgers and other culinary diversities followed. Little Diptits took home the hub, and Maggie won the major prize in the raffle, much to the disgust of UFO who thought that family counted and Flasher would rig the raffle for her to win something nice.
Next week we are at Port Sorell for the annual motor bike r*n with Ratchet and Knickers. Meet at Crow's at 6pm if you're taking your bike. Those on foot need to start much earlier, and the sensible ones driving can meet at the Camp Ground Rotunda at 6.30pm.

1600 Runs coming up

That is right, how time flies. Devonport Hash is celebrating their 1600th run on 30 January. Just because it is one week off the actual run-date we will still celebrate it. JointMaster GoneAgain and Maggie just don't care as this dates suits them just fine, and it suits Crow too! If you prefer to go on your sex-holiday in Thailand, off you go, but Adam and Eve will be at Crow's Oz Rock on 30 January with great raffle prizes from our Major Sponsor, a good stroll and a nutritious meal. See you there!

Last run from PB and Poxy's place was a planned fiasco. Right down from the circular trail set by a virtually live hare who intended to stump us, to the cold wintery weather in the only week of summer Tasmania was supposed to have. Grog was OK, and the snags were fine once they were cremated. Overal score 9 out of 10. Onya Poxy!

Water Pistol R*n

Campers lay in ambush and were totally confused when an underarmed oversexed undermanned band of waterpistol wielders gushed through their campgrounds. The response in the first one was very limited, but the second batch put up a bit more of a go with water bombs, flour bombs and fart bombs, thanks, FC. Flasher knows that size is important, Bastard shoots around corners, and Dint's was so heavy he could barely lift it off the ground. Such was the calibre of the weaponry selection.
Crow and Ten Eighty put on a great spread for the returning drippy Hashers, so good that the likes of CB turned up to find out what had changed at Devonport Hash in the last 2 years.
Pictured is Guardsvan, who has not changed his socks in the last 2 years and has failed to notice that one of them is missing completely. How odd.

Seriously Silly Season

A huge turnout at Forth. As 35 odd Hashers flooded the township of Forth the 12 residents locked them selves up as we paraded up and down their Shopping Zone (according to the road sign only). Dyke was in his Naughty Santa gear happily showing off his red undies to anyone who'd care to look in that direction, and Pioneer, Tinsel and Fanny May (wearing the most adorned Hub ever seen in Hashtory) were happy to show theirs to anyone who'd care to ask. A drink stop or two enhanced the viewing.

We walked along the river to Harvest Moon HQ and visited the adjoining graveyard where inappropriate acts were performed above the watchful eye of Sir Braddon who had been resting in peace for the past 107 years.

Anyways, everyone had brought ample food and everyone drank ample of the supplied fluids. Webflash GoneAgain was testing out his new whizzbang gadget under Ringo's supervision. A jolly time was had by all.

Back to business... Dint's run at Shales Road, that is from the END of the road, started with a long false trail, followed by a washed away bridge. As the pack was split by a lake, both sides on flour, the On-Ons echoed over the lake and through the virginal forest. Platipii were seen swimming away. The runners had taken off up the hill, and three Wannabee runners tred softly behind as the walkers simply followed the gravel road home.

The Three Wannabees arrived 20 minutes after the rest of the pack, as they simply forgot to run on the runners trail. Some of the less devoted Hashers took on Mexican duties instead of running and gave the Coronas a good run for their money. Tucker and Raffle was great, beer was plentiful.

Next run is the Devonport Hash Christmas Run!

LoonRhasH combined with Burnie Hash is having a pseudo-festive stroll commencing Sunday December 11th at 5.30pm from the old cemetery at Penguin. On On will be at the Thai restaurant in Arnold Street, and in deference to this, it has been decreed that everyone should wear a tie.

Killer's Hill

Killer's runs always are pretty popular. No one ever knows exactly what it is about Killer's place, it certainly isn't the running around Forth. We went up one hill, down the same way, up the next hill and down the same way. Dini kept her runkeeper on for another hour to get some more distance, and so she tallied up 4.8 kilometers for our up-and-downhill effort.

LB made sure we all got really well fed, which reminded us why we love Killer's runs so much. It isn't just the rustique historic Grange Surrounds. Coffee surprised us as the mega coffee machine has been retired. Yes guys, it was still present but the complex machinery that sends out jets of steams, vibrates the house, rattles the teeth, and breathes black fire with its rotary pump, heat exchanger and brass piped "sex" part of the coffee industry. It was replaced by a humble looking, no fuss no mess, but very effective little Nespresso machine (check Aldi's imitation if you happen to go to the mainland).

Egyptian Style AGPU

Spot the Burnie infiltrators vying for positions!

FannyMay and GoneAgain hosted the Wicked themed AGPU. As we know from various recent elections, it is fraught with danger. The undemocratic Hash style of 'election' would have caused security concerns and subsequent travel advisory updates for travelers had it been made public. All DHASH members arrived at the black ballooned and spider infested secret voting location in James Street. No voting cards or boxes were present. All Hashers were donning their most striking Wicked outfits, obviously trying to avoid being chosen for positions in the Hash Mismanagement Team.

The night started with a wicked run set by GoneAgain, without any Rambo/Whimp junctions, forcing the most crippled of cripples to go the full distance to find the Piss Stop. Not all bodies made their way to the back of GoneAgain's car, which was strategically parked in the shadows of the Gateway Hotel and the BWS Bottle-shop. Unrestrained Hashers could (and did) abuse the gamblers using the back-entrance of the hotel, where gamblers leave babies unattended in cars and drag gagged teenagers through the door. Long Island Iced tea and Port was on offer from the Lancer. Laced Wicked lolly-pops failed to do their advertised job of permanently staining tongues, but other than that the run went well.

Actual runners made it to the OnOn to enjoy the spoils of Fanny May's kitchen battles. Out came the Flamin Balls with Hot Dick nibbles. Almost all were devoured before the walkers arrived 10 minutes later. Deviled Sausages followed, with baked Vulture Legs, Spidered Cold Sores (with mayonnaise instead of Coleslaw sauce) and Dragon Spit Trifle for desert.

Elections were a shambles. Called off the last minute due to the inability of the various factions to agree on abominations. Rebels among us immediately prepared for battle, vowing to overthrow the ruling extremists minority mismanagement, and take over the proceedings. Self elected clan leader Flasher in an unusual moment of decisiveness decided, not without a hint of bias, who was to do what, and among many cheers the positions were most unfairly adjudicated between the non-believers. All results are not final, and nothing will appear in print till the powers that be have decided on the final results. Results may change without notice.

In any case no casualties were reported on the scene of the elections, but many small fires were put out throughout the night.

Devonport Hash lives on to run again! Next week's run will be from Killers place in Forth.

Patrolling the Don with Dyke

Ready to be WICKED next week...

Hare Dyke still has altitude sickness it seems. Not only didhe not have Parmesan cheese at the gourmet OnOn, he also didn’t give us a contiguoustrail to run. This of course may or may not have anything to do with thedown-down given to Crow for purposely coverig up flour trail in the Don Woods.

The sizeable pack made the Don Woods seemingly insecure tothe odd members of the public who saw us patrolling randomly in small groupsgoing in various direction. We reassembled dazed and confused back at the Poolwhere we had started. Our monk had kept the drizzle at bay, and so still dry wejumped into our vehicles and joined the procession to Dykes place.

Wonderful prizes were hidden in Flasher’s bag, but none cameout. Some poor man’s porn with underage images was flogged off in exchange forbits of coloured paper with numbers. It wasn’t even rigged. This can only meanone thing: Flasher is saving himself for the WICKED Annual General Pissup atFanny May’s house at 10 James Street, Devonport. Dress WICKEDLY, and we will traverseDevonport in style. Remember it is mostly daylight now, so the peeping publicmay catch a glimpse, so make it extra bizarre, ahum, extra WICKED!

Birthday Part-ay

A fine night saw a decent sized pack set off into the golden dusk. Rather than follow trail they were directed by notes handed out by Trailmaster Dyke. Himself recently returned from Nepal and now an altitude junkie, it was inevitable that we should meet with Dyke for our piss stop on the highest point above Ulverstone at the end of Upper Maud Street. Crab was excited to see a van there, assuming it would be serving free soup. Crow thought it might be the van which comes to pick him up when his bike breaks down. Highbeam was hoping for icecream cones and dagwoods, while Dini was already dreaming of a tasty espresso. But the van had none of these services to offer. It contained birthday boy Killer looking younger than ever, and the boot was stocked with gourmet treats and proper popping fizz i.e. more than $4.95 a dozen, Flash...
Next stop was Cheese's house in Amherst Street, and it was Thrust who went for the altitude this time, checking out Cheese's new glassed-in dick. Very fetching. Last stop was the waterfront, and the walkers were poured into the van for the return trip home.
After a meal of footlongs, Pioneer trounced the sinners with a drink and a good scolding. Somewhere along the way she was pantsed and given the hub, but the graphic details have been obliterated from the scribe's mind to protect the innocent. Birthday cake for Killer on half a century, and Dini for a couple more. Rigged raffle redistributed some treasures, and returned Cheese's ugly little garden ornament to its rightful place in obscurity.

Pubic Holiday

Maggie has the jump on public holiday hashes for some obscure historic reason; maybe retired people aren't allowed to cook BBQ sausauges on a working day. Judging from that wicked smile, Maggie knew precisely what was in the sausage that Eagle was about to consume. Luckily Eagle has a cast iron constitution (no reflection of course on Nest's cooking) and he lived long enough to win nothing in the raffle, which is always a bonus and good for one's health.
There were gnats biting, and they made Cheese grumpy as he didn't have any repellant. He made some excuse about needing to go home to supervise his daughter but we all know it's the other way around. Pioneer rightly refused to let him get away with it and made hime sit in the corner until she'd finished her ante-penultimate lippery. Maggie's cat supervised proceedings from the top of a tree, the epitomal snapping pussy as Crab's dog barked threateningly below, a couple of metres short of effecting any real menace.
A very pleasant jaunt around the scenic territory of Turners Beach and the very best in traditional hash tucker and sips.

Wicked AGPU Cummin Up

HighBeam and Mullet set an exemplary and fully catered Hash from their lovely street in Hawley Beach. The run wound its way along the shore-front, and some of us took the beach route home. Runners and walkers all finished at about the same time and cheese and nibbles were awaiting us (take note Pizza guys!), followed by cold beer and ample hand plucked chicken with 1.1 fresh bread roll each. Some greedy bastards ate 5 rolls, so the host missed out on the scrumptious rolls and had to resort to an alternate source of bread - not happy Jan!

Almost 19 y/o virgin DipTits was named and promptly won an appropriate 4 hours of 50+ porn. She assumed 50+ episodes, or maybe 50+ scenes, but she'll surely look at us different next time and really some of us actually are 50+ and (may) have a remarkable resemblance to persons depicted in the video. She may even accuse her mum, HighBeam, of being 50+ after recognising some of the athletic antics from the 4hr flick.

In any case, a WICKED AGPU is coming up on 28 November. With a theme like WICKED we better get into the dollar shop now for Halloween and find something WICKED to wear. Wicked could be anything, from Austin Powers kind of wicked to Wicked the Musical; you define it you wear it.

GoneAgain pictured below, casually striding across the finish line of the Burnie Ten in a course record time of 22:20minutes. Not a bad effort for 10kms, especially considering this was before even the first runners made it back, and the press wasn't even there to take note. As long as we all know that Devonport Hash has a humble and non-competitive hasher with (very well) hidden talents.

Awkward Orchids

Well, so much for Tracka's anticipated gentle stroll around the orchid reserve... the little pack was wantonly cast into a wasteland of ankle-snapping ditches, razor-edged tree stumps and soft tussocks which gave way to knee deep mud when trodden on. After this outburst of bastardry, trail returned to the gravel road and, for the wa*kers, followed a slurry of forestry tracks home. The r*nners dove off across the railway line into the never never, eventually returning none the worse for wear. A Bit of This and Dini enjoyed a stroll through the reserve whilst they waited for the r*nners, but there didn't seem to be too may orchids in flower. On back to Bells Parade for a lacadaisical circle 'cos no one could really be fecked. Rigged raffle had prizes enough for sixty, but not everyone won something. (lucky b*ggers) Tinsel won an out of the date condom which she thought was edible if only she could get the packet open. Flasher took the hub home again to remind him to give it to Mabel.

Roadkill and Raffle Collection

Our Adopt-a-Highway date is 1:30PM (for 2PM start) this Saturday (22 October) everyone!!

We need you this Saturday at the Latrobe Caltex Service station on the highway for a couple of hours. Rod from Volunteers Australia will be there with the AdoptaHighway van and he will equip us with the necessary safety equipment. Just bring a bottle of water, good shoes and a hat! Anything we find that may be suitable for the rigged raffle has to be passed on to Flasher, and roadkill goes to first finders.

Bitofthis and GoneAgain will bring the Barbie to help us recover with a snag and a refreshing ale after the grueling two hour event. There will also be an opportunity to grill any roadkill you may have found.

Home by a Nose

Dint had a very small field of Hashers gallop around the racecourse on a dead track made of old mouldy minced up carpet and sodden brillo pads. Not happy with this level of torture he then sent us up the steep muddy tracks of Kelcey Tier in search of the Lizard. He then appeared on trail in a turd-coloured car so badly designed that there was no room in the boot to carry booze for a piss stop! Back at the On On he lit a fire so toxic we could not get near it for fear of birth defects, and when it burned down far enough to get close, he made it rain. It's a good thing Koff fed and entertained us so beautifully, or the night could have been a complete loss!

Bald Eagle set us a tortuous trail tiptoe-ing through the ti-tree tracks of Don Reserve. With twilight plummeting to a conclusion, we arrived back at Dell Luck to find a plethora of pizzas awaiting us, courtesy of culinary giant Mabel. After a very Cheesy circle and a very Flashy raffle it got dark and we all p*ssed off.

Medal-winning Boredom

Cheese set us a run through the Ulverstone Streets with little floury aitches, just so we would not confuse them with last week's TdP trail. This worked nicely for everyone except Flasher, who could not find any trail, old or new. After waiting out in the cold for a good 20 minutes in the pathetic hope someone would care enough to come looking for him, he gave in and legged it home. Meanwhile the pack had violated Cheese's fridge and were warm and toasty in front of the fire. Footy franks and pies set the classy tone of the evening's entertainment, a night of squinting at an extremely analogue ancient TV perched above the toilet door. The object? To try and spot a bit of decent cleavage among a sea of neanderthal Bronlow Medal contestants. At Round 12 the boredom reached excruciat, and about half the pack deserted. The stayers endured it to the bitter end, establishing that none of them had won the sweep. Still there was beer and chocolate cake so it wasn't all bad.
Next week Bald Eagle will kick off the first run of the summer, Monday October 3rd, 6.30 pm, starting from Dell Luck Reserve at Don.

It was perhaps a first for the Northwest, a wheelchair friendly run! Accordingly we had a good turnout. Glad I wasn't dragging a wheelchair with me, as the run sure had its ups and downs. The Spring Gods took pitty and furnished us with a mild moonlit night, which we all enjoyed in T-shirts - first one this season! GoneAgain thought he'd show off he still has what it takes, thinking that surely he could go where Feels on Wheels could go. He handed Fanny May's furball to Pioneer, bravely slipped into his Vibram barefoot runners and valiantly coughed off behind the runners. On top of the final ascent of the run, where the HHH was, GoneAgain almost collapsed on the doorstep of 'JR', the second most competent ambulance officer of the Northwest (and incidentally the Senior Vice-President of the HACSU Management Committee) whose house just coincidentally happened to be in front of the HHH.

Feels on Wheels had arranged his garage into a virtual Hash Theatre with ample seating for all, complete with a spare wheelchair for GoneAgain who really could've used oxygen and a new set of lungs in preference to wheels. The tucker on offer was respectable and the deserts were exemplary. The rigged raffle was perfectly rigged (see Thrust wearing her new bra on her face) and no-one caught the cunning Flash out on the shameless rigging of Asian raffle prizes. This may have had something to do with the inebriating effect of the liberal adjudication of down-downs sternly, and unfairly, handed out by our Lip Pioneer prior to Flasher's big event.

Enough of that. Next run is a combined Lunar Hash run; 630pm (12 Sept 2011) at Molly's in Devonport.

Feel the Pain

Thrust was caught on candid camera recently looking very competitive
in the Sydney City to Surf. She is back amongst the land of the living
and may grace us with her pressence at Feels on Wheel's place next
monday 5 September - 11 Riverside Avenue at the Stone.
Last week's Pizza Fest at Bald Eagle's was a bit of a reunion, as all
the overseas travellers made it back in one piece - except Thrust who
was running late... (dejavu?).

Run? Yep, there was one. Yep wasn'nt there despite that last
statement). Walk? Yep (who? No, Who wasn't there either), we walked a
long time. Most walkers hashed home early, only the true believers
made it all the way to the HHH at Koff's place. Onya Trakka, GoneAgain
and Ringo. Next time you better run.

Maybe next week we will have a Where Are They Now session on dHash and
shame previous Hashers out of their hiding places for summer!

Crowing About the Stone

The motley crew assembled inside the shady Oz Rock cafe, HQ de la Crow. A threatening sky did not deter the brave hashers to head into the dusky hood of the Stone, it was perhaps with some mild enthusiasm that they hit the trail. Runners headed West as the walkers obediently followed directions to the East. The walkers hit the Indian arrow within 100 yards and proceeded on instinct. Runners ran off into the dark as walkers continued in the runners invisible footsteps.

Anticipating a Rambo and Whimps junction the walkers continued with slowly dissipating enthusiasm. What remained of their initial enthusiasm was thwarted by the look of an ominous hill on trail.All but the toughest turned around here; Tracka, GoneAgain and Ringo forged uphill with an indecisive Mable trailing behind. It was with great relief they stumbled upon the HHH before the true ascent took affect. GA armed with iPhone directions pointing to the most direct walking route to the buckets was overruled by Mable who cunningly led us back to the Oz Rock Inn with his built-in primate talent.

Raffle and Tucker were gratefully accepted, alcohol consumed, down downs swallowed with pride and we shall all meet again at BaldEagles abode next Monday night at 630pm 29 August 2011AD: 25 Torquay Road, East Devonport.

Oh, and this weekend's Adopt-a-highway boozup is postponed :(

A wicked wet and windy night failed to deter a hardy pack of 12 from searching for the frothing dots of self raising flour over a wide area of Devonport's least fashionable addresses. The r*nners were soon back home and into the sherbets and nibblies. The wa*kers took an hour longer to return, as they were on the same trail, probably about 8km in length and very attractive in the dark it was, too. No f*kn idea where we went, and forgot to turn on the r*nkeeper so I'll never know.
There was one lonely chip left in the bowl when we returned and no one would eat it in case it had been somewhere seriously unhygienic. Dyke soon brought out the main event and it was too hot, and then he brought out dessert, and it was too cold. Luckily the port was just right, so we drank it all up. Cheese and Dini were in charge of the rigged raffle again and made a crushing loss, and Bald Eagle won something he actually wanted. It would never have happened with Flasher in charge. Crow won the porn and was very impreessed with the twins on the front cover, I didn't have the heart to tell him there was only one. A little pack with a very big heart this evening, way too many bad jokes, a really good night.

Go Forth and Divide

A pack of thirteen set off from the Grange on a night when the weather said "stay indoors you dumb b*stards", but Hashers never listen, do they. This was a note run for the illiterati, with Hare Killer providing photographs instead of written instructions. The first picture revealed Guardsvan's house, so off we all traipsed up that blooming jolly big hill, slopping and sloshing as the muddy water gushed by. The walking and running packs split here. Next picture for the walkers was of the Pub, and so keen were we to follow that instruction, none of us hung around to find out where the runners were off to. Dint arrived at the pub around the same time, banging on about there being no trail, so Tracka gave him instructions ("f*ck off, any direction you like"). Once inside the Pub we realised that it was almost closing time, the barmaid needed help to clear the beer lines so we applied ourselves to the task. The Sav Blanc lines were full too, apparently.
Duty done, the next picture we opened showed the shop, but most piked and headed for home. Back at the Grange the pack dived into Lucky B*tch's superb nosebag and bevies, and some of that deja vu chocolate cake. Crow poxied the lip and delivered downs with a randomness that only Fastway couriers can match. Dini and Cheese stood in for absent Flasher, raffled everything all at once, and blew the raffle budget big time. PB's beautifully twice-knitted scarf was won by Dint, it was long enough to wrap aroud his neck eight times but only long enough to go around his head once. FC made a welcome return for a cameo run, and Thrust dropped by later to see what she'd missed out on.

A small pack engaged in a dampish stroll around Latrobe's north side, studiously avoiding any bits of Black Tracka's trail which were deemed excessively soggy, a danger to sissy white shoes or in any way liable to mess up one's hair. Even the r*nners hashed the guts out of the muddy bits. The on on was removed to the relative comfort of Tinsel's garage for bevies and some great nosh. Dim sims with peas and corn, pasta with peas and corn, and chocolate cake with peas and corn for afters.
The wrigged wraffle had a homespun flavour with Crow taking home the crocheted velcro gloves and PB winning some knitting needles and yarn. She was quick to showcase her earthy country talents, whipping up a knobbly mirkin-warmer in next to no time. Any fool can make a scarf...

Christmas Wrap

Guardsvan set this week's innovative trail using power poles instead of flour - a great idea unless you make a mistake and have to rub out a bit of trail - you'd need a chainsaw...
Runners and walkers were given cards with a list of the pole numbers to find on their trails, and it all worked a treat. Although a false trail is impossible on this sort of run, Dyke still managed to make one and did an extra 3kms for his sins. Perhaps as this was a Christmas themed run, he went in search of the North Pole.
The Forth Pub proved impossible to bypass on the trail home, and Poxy coaxed some drinks out of the formidable bar wench even though she had closed the taps off for the night.
Back at the Guard-house, Santa had a wonderful festive feast laid out. Turkey aplenty (the roasted one, and then there's Dint) and the meal was perfect down to the last detail, served with the best bone handled silver and even cranberry sauce! Lions fruit cake morphed into Plum Duff with the clever addition of randy custard, and there was a vat of Madeira on hand to wash it all down.
Guardy's lippery was quick and quirky, and the hub was awarded but I have no recollection of the lucky recipient. A top raffle, with very few Hashers fortunate enough to avoid winning something. That USA porn has a real fear factor, six hours, I mean, really!!!... just looking at the covers is seriously eeeeiiwwwwww! And none of them are wearing Santa hats.
Well done Guardsvan, a great night - you really are a very curly Hare.

The bonfire proposed for this evening is now not happening.... maybe Tracka failed to keep his powder dry? and all bangs are off. Someone apologises for any inconvenience caused, but I'm not sure who.

Guildford weekend has been postponed to a year to be determined, but definitely not this year.

The good news is that the Devonport Hash Club will be putting all its efforts into the fabulous Tour de Pisse, scheduled for lift-off on September 17th from the Oz Rock Inn, Ulverstone.

It was a shell-shocked pack who took to the deserted pathways and beaches of Coles Beach after the holler-caust. Mostly runners, but a dedicated group of strollers, sufficient to warrant the big flour "W" laid by the Hare Poxy after many hills, stairs and loops and even a mastercheck on the beach. PB put on a great spread, sans Muffin but avec Chocolate cake, so she is redeemed. The alphabet soup caused more dyslexia than dyspepsia, and the Pies were winners (unlike the Hawks who had a bye). Guardsvan embraced the lippery like the tart I suspect he is, and no one escaped without a good rogering. Poxy took the Hub again for contributing to the national debt by having the RBA governor buy him lunch.
Next week we are at Guardsvan's establishment in William Street Forth for a celebration of Christmas in Winter. 6.30, Monday 26th July. Wear a Christmas Hat and bring the usual $10, raffle money, odd stockings and extra Christmas spirit if you are a p*sshead.

GoneAgain's Birthday bHash went off with fireworks and we never even lit the sparklers that Captain Crab brought along. Brilliant run, salivating catering, rowdy company.

Next run at Poxy and PB's place, 3 Eugene Street Devonport. Make sure we pay appropriate respect to the lofty Devonport Hasher who missed out on running with the hub today because he had a dinner appointment at Admiralty House in Kirribilly with the Governor... Sigh.

Its Complicated

As we get older it is harder to estimate one's true age. GoneAgain tried to carbon-date his fingernails this week and gave up in the end. The cake he received reflected his last known age, plus one, which made this the 18th anniversary of his 21st birthday. This was a nice number, but the above scientific calculations put him closer to 26 and 480months.

Anyways, judge his age for yourself and come on over for GoneAgain's Birthday bHash on Monday 11 July.

Last weeks run was the third consecutive Pizza Run, and was staged at Bald Eagle's Nest. Before we were treated to the pizzas we were kicked out of the garage to dodge the flurries and squalls in the unsafe hoods. Runners and walkers went their exasperated ways, with the unmarked walkers trail doubling over itself no less than 4 times in front of the KitKat Cafe, yet failed to phase the pack. Runners were seen darting off not chasing a life hare as promised, but being chased by the wolf; Thrust was let loose in their direction after a five minute head start. The runners knew they had a cougar on their tails and bolted to the safety of Bald Eagle's nest in double pace. All survived the torrential rains that the faithful Monk directed either side of our outside adventure.

Bald Eagle's Nest

Before we forget.... Next run (4 July 2011) is from Eagle's Nest: 25 Torquay Road, East Devonport. If you thought Australia doesn't have 4th of July, think again. We do have it here, we just don't celebrate it like our Yankee Hashers OK. Well come in stripes if you like!

Last week's run was from Tracka's work garage. We all dutifully walked over to the Tenpin Bowls place and bowled over the innocent pins without a drop of alcohol. We dashed back to the on-on for a quick fix of traditional Beer and Pizza. Yummoh said all of us, as we had our down-downs and the obligatory hash-raffle.

Word went round that certain people are taking roadies from Hash, which is not good Hash protocol. The runs are worked out at $10/run on the assumption each hasher drinks 1-2 drinks, so unless we want to cough up more every week lets stick to the plan! For the thirsty hashers we recommend they invest in an extra raffle ticket to cover the excess consumption. And please do not take roadies!

Bike Envy

Torrential rain preceded Hare Cheese's run, wiping any trace of whatever run he may or may not have set for us. Assuming he was jet-lagged and broke, probably not eaten anything decent for weeks (USA McDonalds and whatever they fed him on the plane), he probably hadn't set much of a trail at all. Besides there was bike viewing to be done!

The rain stopped, and we were quickly handed bits of paper, and off we went. Walkers walked to the 'place where we tell the time' (the Ulverstone Clock) and back again, runners went else-where. It was a miracle none of us got drenched and drowned as there were some serious squalls happening all around us. Qudos to the Hash Monk! Driving home at night revealed lots of debris on the road.

At the OnOn we had Shephards pie and nibblies compliments of Dini the caterer. We had to put up with the smell of Cheese's new bike, and momentarily listen to the finely tuned exhaust when peer pressure made Cheese turn the beast over. The rigged raffle was not rigged enough, I won no prizes, but all the bald, old, ugly bastards did!

Next 'run' is from Parallel Solutions (BlackTrakka's) and assuming it will rain we just need to make our way to the Tenpin Bowling facility down the road.

'Koff is realising that not smoking is stacking on the pounds...

Hash Grub has been scoring high these last few months. Fanny May set the bar very high and everyone is nervous. Captain Crab commanded his wife Juliet into action and as a team they had pre-run nibbles waiting for hungry Hashers. Flasher had set a long run to built up the appetites as only a dozen or so were braving the extreme temperatures and the piles of food Crab was preparing was not going to go to waste. Even the walkers were given a good 5k+ stretch - see RunKeeper's map (link may not work if you are not on Dini's StreetTeam) for Dini, Dyke and GA's walk.

On return we were greeted with foamy alcoholic drinks inspired by the recent Highland Fling. The best BBQ for donkeys, complete with onions, fresh wholemeal bread, and the works followed the cold foam. Coffee and Lamingtons for desert, Port, ice-cream,... In the mean time the mercury plummeted towards zero, Dini had to find more firewood in her car, and Otto's Grotto may well have been an igloo. Flasher was going rampant on the raffle, not stopping till everyone except the biggest losers had a prize.

Winter Solstice is June 21, which is the day after our next run at one of Dyke's domiciles (TBA). So expect even cooler temps as the days are still getting shorter. Bring skates and scarves and watch this space for geographic details.

Full Moon will be celebrated at Hare Puss in Boots' new home in Foot Street, Hadspen next Thursday 16 June 2011AD.

That's right! Highland Fling this weekend. Hash Monks are putting in a combined effort to keep the weather out, so why not help them by doing a little rain dance right now.

Anyways, you may also like to know what transpired last Monday. Tracka was due to set a run, and we had all hoped for a cryptic piece of paper and no proper real trail, tons of pizza to help digest our beer and a happy Tracka, but to our surprise Dyke showed up instead. He told us that Tinsel was struck with a bad case of lets just say Tinselitis for now and needed hospitalisation! The good man Tracka is gave Tinsel the time and care a Hasher of her caliber deserved and delegated the run out to Dyke.

A cold long run for the runners, and a merciful marathon for the walkers was what Dyke had in store for us. Tinsel was sick and we were not meant to be happy. After 7+ kilometers the smiles were frozen off our faces and once warmed up at Dyke's abode we dug into the dim-sims. What followed we can only presume was a sign of Dyke's allegiance to Democrat Wiener (who has recently been in the news because of photos of his wiener) inspired him to boil up some wieners for us. With a dash of home made rhubarb pickle, with a dash of chili, it did us well.

The beer was awesome, the raffle was wrigged and the prizes were palatable just like the wieners. OnOn Dyke for rescuing the situation and OnOn to Tracka for being a good husband and we all wish Tinsel a quick recovery and hope to see her come back to Hash soon.

Mable misses Dint's run

The cool pack assembled at Koff's and Dint's in an icy East Devonport. GoneAgain wearing barefoot runners and no light was brave to expose himself to the elements with his cough. When Mable failed to show up the pack left.

Walkers got to the second master check where Dint's secret message was to be read. It said something to the effect; 'Why should I bother setting a walkers trail if you c#nts always ignore it... So no special walking trail, and take this as your ON HOME you b#stards' ... The runners did 7+ kms and didn't succumb to frostbite.

The fare waiting for us was again banquetulous, and there appears to be a gourmet trend in Hash happening. Too many unspeakable dishes to name, and only a few takers for the a la carte deserts. I just want some bangers and mash for the next run. Expired and unpalatable chocolates in the rigged raffle complemented by some Cairns souvenirs and riveting CDs.

Maybe Black Tracka will find us some pizzas and beer for next week's run. Meeting at the Glistening Erection at 630pm! Gloves might be of the order.

Fanny's Feast

Was there a run? Probably. But all I really remember is the food.

GoneAgain may have set a good run, but Fanny May certainly put on a feast. Complete 12 course degustation menu ending with home made Apple Crumble and ice cream we spend the majority of the time stuffing our faces. This Hash was a Take it Off and Put it On type deal where we may have burned a few calories gallivanting around the new SurfClub and the Naked Erection, but we sure stacked the calories back on to make up for it. Hang on, was that a flash-back of GA's run? Anyways, not important. We had Dutch licorice, Australian Port, home made Pumpkin Soup, Chorizo nibbles with Bega Cheese, French bread sticks with King Island Butter,.... and despite the two days of kitchen labour it worked out at $1.17 per head miraculously.

Anyone like to match that? Dint is the first brave Hare to give it a go, thinking he can whip Koff (pictured above stressing about how she can possibly compete with this kind of catering) into a cooking frenzy, bare foot and pleading for mercy. Haunted Run

The run started at Lantern's place. Lantern, pictured above, led all us non-believers to the Dead Center of Town; the cemetery situated practically at his doorstep. There we heard haunting rain and blowing wind sounds which mysteriously appeared out of a big box in the outdoor chapel where we had our first master check. Key hashers were assigned ancient kerosene lamps, complete with genies inside, and instructed under no circumstance to loose sight of each other. The trail ran an eerie loop of the graveyard before disappearing in the zombie infested adjoining dark woods.

Many dark woods and cemeteries later, the walkers and runners, still carrying their dimly flickering lanterns (scaring residents), were guided in separate directions with the runners disappearing deep into the Don forest, and coming out at Sawdust bridge. At this point in time Guardy, who set the run, was already patrolling the streets with his hearse tolling the bell for people to bring out their dead. Several Hashers took this opportunity and were collected in this manner and redeposited back at the haunted and camouflaged Lantern HQ under the bridge over the highway.

Lantern arranged splendid catering as per his usual standard, but this time he had contracted Guardy and his gas cooker to help to cook up an evil Goul-Hash. The pavlova for desert was most menacing, creeping into the digestive system of all present, including diabetics and slimmers.

The rigged raffle saw a nice country music cassette won by Crow (or at least he was the eventual recipient of it). Unfortunately Crow had forgotten how to use casettes in general and no matter how he tried he could not hear any music.

As pumpkin time approached the Hashers got into a fit of planking. Seen below is Dyke who was in the middle of doing some 'pelvic floor exercises' when Dini felt compelled to do an impromptu plank on his lap.

Feels on Wheels Feeling the Love as he won the grant prize in the rigged raffle.

The pack braved the cold air and headed off into the darkness. Danger loomed in the back-streets of 'the Stone' which must've frightened most walkers to Hash home early to help Dini with the Braai. Dini had arranged a feast of chicken and stuff, and Flasher was responsible for the grand tour of Ulverstone. Intrepid running Hashers negotiated the bridge works on the on-home risking life and limb, but all survived their ordeal. Cold down-downs and warm fires heated our souls. The Rigged raffle was rigged. And so we carry on....

Dyke's Bouncing Checks

It was a pint-sized pack for a perfect night, and the trail had more checks than a fat man's kilt. Every little two bob street between William Street and Steele Street had its little dollops of flour, carefully measured with a teaspoon, and every street corner had a check. The runners covered most of it, the sensible walkers mutinied in stages until only the geek pack of Tracka and Ringo were still out. Two beers later they were still out, so Guardy went to their rescue, while the rest went to devour the tucker at Dyke's cottage. Guest lip for the circle was Knackers, who after being thrown in at the deep end proved he could talk underwater with a mouth full of marbles. So scarred is he by the experience he says he won't come back until August. Downs for the hare and the cook, and a few sprinkled around for minor misdemeanours like colour coordinated socks. Mabel told something he thought was a joke, twice, just in case it got funnier the second time, which it didn't. Not a goldfish in sight. Lantern won the major raffle prize, a 1969 Birds of Australia tea towel, while others got the junky prizes like wine, chocolates, porn and DVD players.

Do bring a torch

Soff's run reminded all of us that torches, and perhaps life-vests, are handy items to have on winter runs. Perhaps Soff was hoping to put one of us through a hip replacement too, or whatever his motivation; The run he set nicely skirted high water tide across wet and slimy rocks. Trees and other obstacles were strategically placed on trail. To top it all off he had two concurrent circle checks where Hashers split up in two teams and both waited for each other to arrive before calling 'on'. The awkward stalemate was resolved when both parties gave up yelling. ... After many a down down all was forgiven, and the food was just splendid, and perhaps reminiscent of High Tide.

Next run from the Devonport Pool carpark, on the Edge of the dark Don Reserve where Dyke is arranging the trail. OnOn at Dyke's place at the foot of Kelcey Tier. Don't forget raffle money, and expect to win the last of the roadkill chocolate bunnies.

Yep set us a good run/walk round the Penguin Hood, avoiding most precipitation and sparing the walkers from the most vertically challenging bits of trail. BBQ left nothing to be desired, and cake for desert... The highlight was when Flasher drew prize winning tickets out of Dini's draws. Some of us had to check personally if their number really was in her, ahum, the draw. Prizes were just mind boggling again, and some exquisite collector item beer was amongst today's collection. Guardy here is seen inspecting the original 2008 vintage use-by stamp on these ales. 2008 Really was a great year for Crownies.

Dinner at Bastards

Pioneer was kind enough to run the show for us last monday night, complete with officiating the procedings.

Bastard braved torrential rains (after a subtle dose of Pioneer tongue lashings no doubt) to set a trail for the undeterred amongst us. The heavens spared us from the worst as the great monk in charge of the skies is planning a wet bottom competition for the combined fullmoon event next monday - 18 April 2011.

The raffle was rigged as per usual and included tearful reunions of many owls and other recently obtained loot which was equally divided amongst the well fed culprits who had settled in for the night. No cat was on the menu as this photo was taken after dinner.

Next combined Full Moon Run will be at Yep's place, on the bottom of Mission Hill, numba Wan. Someone please let him know...

Run a Duck!

Huge run (speaking for myself) from Flasher's place was followed by a huge meal from Flasher's kitchen (supplemented by delectable bits by Dini). Walker's never saw their on home as they were too slack to brave the dark night. That's right, it was dark! No moon, no nothing. Summer time had run it's course and it was back to torches again. GoneAgain almost kept up with the running pack with his duck-feet barefoot runners, and complained about his calves for the rest of the week.

No Warrawee photos as our WebFlash was too preoccupied with his feet which were clad in five finger Vibram shoes for a secoond hash run in a row!

Good turnout for Lantern's run, last chance to run in daylight as clocks will be returned to normal before Flasher's run next week. Or was it the reputation Lantern has for gourmet? Either way, good turnout. We scambled around the Warrawee walking track for almost an hour before ending at the BBQ spot where we had a feast in the dark.

We could've been eating anything for all we knew but it smelled and tasted great. Each time we returned to the tucker-table new dishes had appeared out of nowhere. And as a show of abundance, so many pavlovas were made that one could even be spared to dunk Lanterns face in one. Most of it disappeared straight into Lantern's mouth, and the crumbs were eaten by HighBeam and GA as crumbs don't count in any diet.

No Muffins and No Lunch

Poxy set the 5.3km run for PB, and in return PB heated mini-pies and mini-sausages for Poxy. Food was swallowed down with super-heated soup after the run. Guest appearances by Doodlebug (from Margaret River, WA) straight from the Spirit and Stormy from Warnambool . Stormy brought along a virgin who allegedly gives yoga classes to cattle for a living and rides a new1300-cc motorbike. She was aptly named Miss-Ile after careful consideration.

Fanny May tried to get in the good books by offering food to all the good looking male Hashers and was promptly told off by the female Hashers. In her clumsy defence she further admitted to the horrified Harriettes that she also makes GoneAgain lunch everyday and brings it to his work when he forgets to put it in his bag. She was promptly re-edumucated and GoneAgain can no longer expect his free lunch - see photo.

Next run set by Lantern on Monday 28th March, 630pm along Shale Road out of Latrobe. Near the pump house? Nothing much out there, so drive till you see something! Runners and Walkers both promised a short run but Runners need to bring a steam cleaner and truck detergent to get the muck of themselves afterwards. Iodine tablets optional.

The long and the short of it...

Turners Beach now holds the record for the two shortest runs in Devonport History. The trail circled around Maggie's place and ended on Blackburn Drive under the 2km mark. The elite running athletes amongst us, namely GA and Dint, improvised an extended run trail, as did some of the fanatic walkers. Tucker and booze made up for lack of trail plus we had a brilliant circle with virgin lip GoneAgain. Special mention also goes to Flasher for the excelent raffle prizes on offer which tonight included stolen and otherwise illegaly procured property.

Next run from Poxy's Place in Eugene Street, Devonport. Also don't forget Lunar Hash is running next sunday (March 20th) from Fern Glade Falls, just out of Burnie (5pm).

What is normal in any case? Devonport’s Monday r*n is 6.30pm from Parramatta Creek, with the On On back at Bells Parade in Latrobe. Guess that is about as normal as it gets, and normally it is pretty fricken cold there at Bells Parade too....

Anyways, as most of you who lived to tell the tale know, we have survived NashHash. Everything went surprisingly smooth despite the Mismanagement Committee having dozens of volunteers getting in the way of everything. It is hard to serve pizza when you are hungry, or beer when you are thirsty,...

We seem to have left Hobart in tact, albeit a little shell shocked. The staff at The renowned Ball and Chain steak restaurant at Salamanca Place for instance were reluctant to serve selected Hashers wine with their dinner, presumably based on a recent bad experience they had with people wearing similar bad taste t-shirts to ours. Perhaps we are not their target audience.

Many of us strayed into the MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) at Moorilla on the way home, and nobody was left un-impressed. How could you not be impressed by a museum that offers free entry, is open till 11pm, has the best restaurant (The Source) and several good cafes, offers accommodation (The Pavillions) and has 150 'c#nts' on display, a poo-machine, a morbidly obese Porsche, knowledgeable staff on each corner, a high tech iPod guide to explain everything you see complete with artist interviews and at the end of the visit can even email you a link of where you walked and what you saw in the museum.

Love is complicated

And so GoneAgain set the most complicated trail ever devised for Valentine's day 2011. Set with a combination of white flour, blue and pink chalk, a tonne of R&W arrows, past the old and closed forever sex-store (closed due to lack of clients as it was so well hidden), a bunch of churches and public loos.

FannyMay made some love-ly creations, including a broken-heart jelly and chocolate heart shaped cakes. Company was exceptional as was our exempliary behaviour - apart from Dint yelling across the yard that he didn't send some spunks (Pioneer and Tinsel) a valentine's card as they hadn't sucked his cock lately (and apparently Koff did and was rewarded with romantic stuff).

Bald Eagle Rocks

It takes some out of towners to remind us what great weather we have here - no floods, no cyclones, just fecking freezing! Nevertheless our four visitors from the big island enjoyed their brief stroll along Pardoe beach before beating a hasty retreat back to their respective iceboxes for another beer. Trail set off eastward from the Tea Tree Lane carpark, did a strange lurch backward and headed out along the heritage trail towards East Devonport. There seemed to be trail everywhere, going nowhere.
When all the hashers were tired of going nowhere for long enough, the On On was removed to Eagle's roost for a few sherbets and a feed of Mabel's amazing tucker. I'm amazed by it every time.
Cheese barged into the lippery and awarded downs like a man who's just snorted Ant-Rid. Lost property featured, with many useful items returned to their rightful owners, plus a VHS which would make brilliant landfill. Mabel took home the Hub,and the pack then did their ten minutes of planning for the pre-lube. Vastly excessive, in my opinion.

Next week's run is from FannyMay's house, 10 James Street Devonport. It's Valentines Day, so don't forget the chocolates, roses and edible cherry-flavoured intimate apparel. Or you could just wear something red. Feb 14th, 6.30 p.m.

The Downhill Slide

Cheese is getting on in years and it won't be long until he's over the hill.
To get us all in the right frame of mind, he organised for his birthday for the Hash to have an hour on the waterslide, to ensure we ALL feel our age the next day.
Afterwards, his Mum made great pizzas and Pistol Pete cooked them in his own little personal backyard crematorium.
Guardy entertained us with his very slippery lippery, and the raffle was as rigged as ever. Lady Luck never got a look in.

OZ Day at Fanny May

GoneAgain set a run from FannyMay's place to celebrate Australia Day! Some of us were draped in gold and green, but only one could win the prize for best costume. According to Tracka, and the decision was unanimous, Killer won the best costume prize for dressing as Albert Namatjira.

Fresh Fanny and Filthy were visitors from Townsville, the first of the grey nomad brigade to hit our shores for Nash Hash, and they were suitably impressed by our drinking prowess.

FanyyMay outdid herself by cooking up a storm which started with a mid-run serving of vegemite sandwiches and good old beer, all hand delivered and served at the war memorial by MonaLuna. The slower runners missed out as the walkers with a ferocious appetite ate them all. Back at the OnOn in James street the runners were awarded with an early serving of party pies and saveloys served so hot that they had to wait with eating till the walkers made it back. Roast lamb in rolls with gravy and mint jelly... and fairy bread and Anzacs for desert completed the tucker and a healthy serving of port was on hand to flush it all down. Fireworks and burned marshmallows on sticks completed the evening.

Next run from the Ulverstone Waterslide! Women are instructed to wear white bikini tops or none at all, and blokes can come as they wish.

Yes Hashers, Australia Day is on the horizon! That means that Dint is absolutely correct in forecasting a Green and Gold look for next monday's Hash at Fanny May's. Since the Full Moon Hash at Furner's on Thursday night will be closer to the actual Australia Day we will have to all order Meatpies and Beer there and drape ourselves in Green and Gold.

Australia Day Poem

Australians are a funny lot, you'll often hear one curse,

No Nickers Run

Nickers and Ratchet did their annual Port Sorell Motorbike run from their campsite. But for reasons defying explanation there was no Nickers and the run was set from the local BBQ place. Nickers did leave her mark in the form of some good salads. Ratchet set the run and the bikers all arrived by a polite 7pm to give him time to get ready. Dyke, being the SNAG, cooked the snags on the BBQ. Crow ran the circle, Zippo was named Zippo, and GoneAgain got a down down for getting mail (nothing less than the Certificate of Deprivation for us Adopting-a-Highway). Cheese’s bike ran out of juice on the way home and GoneAgain’s didn’t -because he coerced Dint into giving him his last $10 to buy fuel before setting off.

Next run is GoneAgain's and he's setting it from FannyMay's place (10 James St, Devonport) because he wants to see her sweating in the kitchen. Bring something to sit on if you can.

Devoted Loonies may gather at a public house (Furners) in Ulverstone at 7pm on Thursday January 20th to join with Hare Lip Flasher for stroll, sips and sustenance before baring their buns under the silvery glow of the January moon.

Flasher's Night Off

A skimpy pack set out from les Bean's place in McCabe Avenue, armed with umbrellas and ready for the weather to crap on them in a big way. Lots of hilly streets and some sneaky alleyways and stairs took the hashers down onto the railway line reserve at Coles Beach. A mastercheck at Don College sent the sheep home while the goats ran out to the Don Railway and back. Flasher had coerced Les into doing all the cooking and was sitting around drinking piss when we arrived back. But it must be said that his Haring skills were up to scratch - the walkers and runners arrived back within seconds of each other. That could also be something to do with the fact the the rain keeps away the SCB's who hash home early.
The wrigged wraffle abounded with post-Christmas specials and more relics from Auntie's special collection of c1968 knitted treasures. Poxy arrived just as it was ending and was terribly disappointed to have missed out, as he was relying on it to pick up something nice to give PB next Christmas. Eagle scored a very classy tie which will earn him his own office at work, but Highbeam came away less than satisfied after finding out what she'd won wasn't porn.
There was a gap where the lip should have been, so Tracka filled it with spackle and awarded all the downs he couldn't think of. Bald Eagle made a cracking beer bitch.
At the end of it, Cheese was astonished to find himself holding the Hub, even though both hands were in his pockets.
Next week is the motor bike run set by Ratchet and Knickers from Port Sorell Caravan Park. Riders meet at Oz Rock Inn Ulverstone at 6pm.

Chief dwarf Happy (last time I saw Dyke he was wearing a shirt proclaiming that he was gay - same thing) will be leading the Burnie Hash dwarves, Dopey, Dopey, Dopey, Dopey and Dopey ('cos you'd have to be dopey to follow Dyke anywhere!) on a day walk starting at Alma Bridge.

Meet at the Forth Pub, (Sunday 9th January 2011) at 10 am - bring lunch and drinks, and money for Pub meal after. Happy rates this outing as “easy-peasy”, around 13km in length and significantly flatter than Mount Roland.

Christmas was celebrated in the North West in traditional Hash Style. Burnie Hash was overwhelmed by Devonport Hash who all politely showed up respectably late. Phaywray and her little helpers cooked up a storm and no one was felt wanting for more... Well, except Santa of course. We all wanted more of him. We all duly sat on his lap hoping for that little bit more, but short of a flashing smile Santa Ringo was awfully well behaved.

The next night at Crow's abode, saw Devonport Xmas Hash started with several circles on the beach. Not sure if they were employees of the renowned Oz-Rock-Inn, just ring-ins or just a flook, but two beach bunnies showed up for a photo session, drooling over the handsome Santas present and wanting to sign on the HHH dotted line immediately. GoneAgain set the minimum Hashing age at 12 to cover all possibilities and promptly was told off with a down down and Cheese reminded him that the minimum age was 16. Miraculously the beach bunnies still qualified and we shall be expecting them to show their smiles at the next hash (even though they went to school in Launceston)!

Numerous runners made it to the end of the Ulverstone Rock Wall, and from there on the night degraded steadily with the lip having to hand out spankings with a wooden spoon and writing out sexual favour cheques for the goody -two-shoes who failed to join i against the lip. The night briefly reached a new climax with a superb meal at the ORI (Oz Rock Inn) but after that we resorted to the usual low standard of entertainment which included pole dancing (Crow wiped the pole with his tongue after each session). The night came to an abrupt halt when Crow was floored by his own entertainment unit which threw a heavy loudspeaker at him after he failed to maim himself on the pole.

Next Devonport Hash run shall be from the Tasmanian Arboretum on the Old Tramway Road near the Huge Banana (Eugenana).

God Protect Launceston as they are having LoonRhasH Christmas at the Duke of Wellington hotel at 7pm with a pub-meal.

Walking just isn't enough

Guardy's run at Alma bridge was a roaring success. Some hashers used muscles they hadn't used much before when they came upon the flex tree gym apparatus on the way to the dam. Mullét even found it quite fun to sit and bounce on it. She said she hadn't cum that way before - to the dam I presume.

Our Christmas Party will not be cancelled due to sexually inappropriate advances. At our age (average Hasher is now a respectable 38) that just is not going to happen.

Our own Devonport Hash Christmas party will be hosted from Crow's Oz Rock Inn on Monday 20th of December (Beach Road, Ulverstone) at 6.30pm-ish. Bring spare shoes and gear in case someone decides you go for a swim.

Dyke promised us no hills and no mud, no false trails, an ocean full of whales and world peace. And what did we get?

Well, Oh my God, what a fabulous room! Are all these your guitars? This place is bigger than our apartment. Uh, could I have a drink of water? Ya want some? Huh? Oh wow! Look at this tub! Wanna take a bath?

Mable cooked up a storm, excellent bread (straight from the freezer), well rigged raffle complete with GoneAgain drawing his own number for the best prize - he was going to call out his own number no matter what, but luck was apparently on his side as well.

East of Loonsville

Even Ringo was worried about the late start to this week's combined DH3 LoonR R*n. Maybe he was afraid he might miss out on his Pub meal if we didn't make it back on time. Luckily Dint had been very restrained and the r*n was quite short, looping around the prettier areas of East Devonport and finishing with a stroll past the local zoo. (what's that you say? it's a caravan park?)
Soon the sizeable pack was back and loitering outside the lovely old church, wondering where the Launceston contingent had got to. It's not too hard to work out that they would be at the nearest pub. Poor Hash Pash had drawn the short straw again and was Des, and there was no flashing Fanny May to make it worthwhile!
The Edgewater's dining area was soon vacated to accommodate the rowdy pack, and stand-in wraffle wriggers Dini and Cheese terrorised the hearts and wallets while the meals were prepared. PB showed off her new Hash Tattoo which has a subliminal message for Poxy - I feel it may be too subtle.
Hash circle returned to Church Street where Hare Lip Dint let the power go to his mouth. Lots of downs and good fire kept the Loons out quite late. The moon hid itself behind the clouds, but when the other moons came out they lit up the entire street.

Bridge over the River Mabel

A river came between the run and the on on, but luckily Eagle and Mabel had arranged for there to be a bridge, built quite some time ago. They must have been planning this run for a while. Eagle was attacked by a fierce dog whilst setting, but this didn't stop him laying a marathon of hills for the runners, with a few rabbit holes chucked in for good measure. The walkers got a fair look at the railway line and a bit of park, and everyone collided at the Berrigan Road shops for a mastercheck. It was on home from there by whatever means you chose. The on on crossed the bridge to Eagle's place and after several beers and a few little dicks, Mabel looked quite impressive as the lip. Downs for the hares, Lantern for mud-surfing, Dint for fish-tailing and for so many other things he had to have the Hub as well. After a good feed the raffle was drawn. It must have been immaculate conception that saw Foghorn win a prize without even having a ticket. Also in the prize bag were some hot watches, some cold biros, and some absolutely frigid Porn which Fanny May won. The lads had her convinced it was good family entertainment and are pictured here reading the cover and not looking at the pictures.
Next week's Monday run is from Bells Parade set by Black Tracka. But don't forget Saturday's 30th anniversary celebration Pyjama Party at Tracka and Tinsel's place, Tarleton Road Spreyton. 2pm for a 3pm run. Or cum early and help with the large erection. Gone to the Dogs

Dogs everywhere! Soff, Fanny May, Crab, and co-hare Handjob contributed two canines to the pack on this tit-for-tat-because-Hobart- gets-one Monday public holiday.
The dog-free runners bolted into the blue and the dog-walkers meandered along to the bike track, collecting dog-shit bags on the way. By the time they reached the Mastercheck at Camp Clayton, the bags were full and Bastard handed out new ones. Trail headed for the sea but stopped short at another MC by the railway line.
Some made like a train, but Soff convinced them to hash back along the beachfront. It was a clear and crisp evening and the walk by the pounding surf was refreshing, even if the rolly rocks made it hard going underfoot. The walking pack gathered briefly at the seaside church to pray for world peace, free dog food and more beer. On home by various means - railway, grass and through the back of the old motel and onto the streets.
There were more dogs to be had on the streets and the pack was waylaid while A Bit of This patted a puppy with a crooked ear, but the dogs and their owners were soon put in their place by this bikey-mole pussy.
Back at the kennel, Mabel ran a tidy circle but lost sight of the hub until it was rescued by Koff and awarded to Cheese for his creative sporting prowess. The raffle was over-run with Halloween seconds which made some of the winners horny. Wraffle wrigger Flasher's collection of perpetual prizes grows, and now incorporates not only highly desirable second-hand porn but a third-hand packet of winged Kotex.
Next week's run is from the Roberts carpark in Devonport, with the On On at Eagle's place, 25 Torquay Road East Devonport.

A Pink-Letter Day

There were so many pink bits that Flasher hardly knew which way to turn. Most showed their support with pink shorts or shirts. But it was Dyke, of course, breathtaking in a little pink dress who stole the show. He probably caused a few vehicles to swerve as heads turned to stare at the pink pack following trail down onto Josephine Street. The runners disappeared far into the pink sunset while the walkers found the HHH at the bottom of Amy Street and slogged up the hill to home.
After a grand spread, Shove-It ran a tidy circle. The hub was redeemed from Foghorn's clutches and foisted on to Dint, who can wear it without a bra. The raffle was themed with great subtlety - you'll never guess!! Pink!!!! Winners were falling over each other to avoid the fabulous prizes on offer.
A great night out and a well supported fundraising effort for Breast Cancer research. Top stuff.
